Ya’el Courtney

Ya'el is a Neuroscience PhD candidate in her fourth year at Harvard. She investigates cerebrospinal fluid, the choroid plexus, and their roles in development and illness alongside Maria Lehtinen at Boston Children's Hospital. Ya'el was named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Gilliam Fellow in 2021. This award is given to approximately fifty individuals annually across the United States who demonstrate not only cutting-edge scientific research, but also a commitment to leadership and increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM.
